Their gathering was marked by a resolute proclamation, cautioning against any attempts to coronate another Eze Aro on December 26th. This steadfast position follows the recent coronation by Eze Dr. Kanu Nwa Kanu on His Royal Majesty (HRM) Mazi Godwin Kanu Idei, the 9th monarch of the venerable Arochukwu Kingdom, an event that transpired on October 20, 2023.
The Akama Ano youth wing, in no uncertain terms, issued a stern warning against the proposed coronation of Pastor N'mazi Eberechukwu Oji. Their emphasis resided in the preservation of time-honored traditions and customs, a sentiment deeply embedded in the cultural fabric of the Arochukwu Kingdom. The youth wing fervently expressed its unwavering support for Eze Kanu Nwa Kanu, also known as Eze Ibom Isii, dismissing the purported suspension orchestrated by the Abia State Government, operating under the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. They underscored that this suspension lacks any semblance of recognition within the complex socio-cultural structure of the Arochukwu Kingdom.
Aro Okeigbo Blog's correspondent on the ground reported that the youth wing, in a spirited display, clarified that Arochukwu, by its very nature, is not an autonomous community. Therefore, any actions taken by external entities, such as the alleged suspension, are rendered null and void within the kingdom's confines. Their argument hinged on a crucial disqualification criterion: the continued existence of his father, which, according to the protestors, automatically disqualifies Prince N'mazi Eberechukwu Oji from vying for the revered position.
